JR Construction is a boutique building company specialising in custom designed homes in the Brisbane area.
The company has a young and vibrant team with a hands-on approach that will see a project from design concept through to handover.
When it comes to building, the design stage and building stage are often done by two different companies. More often than not in these situations, the difficulty is reconciling a design with the practical and realistic costs of construction.
At JR Construction, there is both a dedicated in-house designer and builder that work together at every single stage to ensure the project is not only uniquely designed to the client's brief, but able to be constructed to a high quality and delivered within the client's budget and timeframe.
Jansen Wong
BUILDER
Jansen's career started on a very different path, with an Honours degree in Biotechnology. Realising quickly that life as a scientist was not what he wanted, he followed his passion and talent for building into an apprenticeship in carpentry with a small family business specialising in renovations and bathrooms.
At the end of his apprenticeship he worked as a site supervisor and construction manager for an award winning, custom home and renovation specialist. During this time he managed a series of HIA custom award-winning homes and renovations whilst learning to work within limited budgets and timelines.
As the builder at JR Construction, Jansen has a hands-on approach with all aspects of the building journey. He is always contactable for clients, has trusted and long standing relationships with all the tradies and suppliers and is on the tools whenever necessary.
Matthew Ormond
Designer
Matthew Ormond heads up the creative side of JR Construction, designing unique homes specifically for our clients. You will first meet Matthew in the initial concept stages, throughout the design process including co\lour selections through to tender presentation and finally customer service until the end of the build.
With a Bachelor of Architecture from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand and GreenSmart accreditation, Matthew's experience spans across the Tasman. He started designing a range of master designs for a major Australian project builder and also designed and drafted custom designs for standard, small lot and difficult blocks.
Matthew has since developed a strong grasp on designing within set budget parameters whilst aligning with client needs and wants. He has designed homes that have set new suburb sale records in South East Queensland, including homes on sloping, small lots, through to sprawling Hamptons inspired properties.
